Orpheus Institute welcomes five new chamber music ensembles
News January 15, 2026Five new ensembles join Orpheus Instituut’s Advanced Chamber Music Course
Orpheus Instituut is pleased to announce that five chamber music ensembles have been selected for the Advanced Chamber Music Course. This programme is one of the institute’s key initiatives supporting lifelong learning in the music sector. Designed as a launchpad for emerging ensembles, the course offers nine intensive sessions guided by Piet Kuijken, Paul De Clerck, Amy Norrington, Tony Nys and Piet Van Bockstal. Their complementary perspectives will help participants shape their musical identity and provide them with valuable tools for the stage.
As in previous years, auditions took place in the autumn, and the selected ensembles begin their sessions this January. Read more about the five ensembles below.
Luscofusco Quartet
Meet João Pedro Ferreira de Sá, Cristina Torres Martínez, Ignacio Álvarez Lamolda and Jorge Orosa López of the Luscofusco Quartet. Their name, evoking the transition from light to shadow, reflects their pursuit of expressive contrast and emotional depth. The ensemble distinguishes itself through its strong listening culture and focused rehearsal dynamic. Under the artistic guidance of Pieter Jansen and Guy Danel, they are ready to further refine their artistic profile within the course.

Tanma Trio: Madis Aasalo, Angelika Rizopoulou, Tadeja Malc
Tanma Trio
The Tanma Trio, a clarinet trio formed at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, has been performing together since 2023 and now prepares to transition to the professional sphere. Throughout the Advanced Chamber Music Course, they will delve into lesser-performed gems while refining their main repertoire.
In concert, audiences can expect a uniquely international ensemble: a Slovenian clarinettist, a Greek cellist and an Estonian pianist. Their diverse cultural backgrounds enrich their musical identity and artistic approach.

Duo Éclat
Duo Éclat, formed by flautist Nina Sivošová and pianist Lydia Michel, is dedicated to exploring the full expressive range of the flute-piano repertoire. Their artistic vision highlights the versatility of the duo formation, moving between impressionistic delicacy, lyrical intimacy, rhythmic vitality and contemporary energy.
Their repertoire spans Debussy and Ravel, the folk-infused lyricism of Amirov and Iturralde, and even Andy Scott’s jazz-tinged Sonata for Flute and Piano. By juxtaposing such contrasting and yet interconnected works, they reveal the breadth of sonic possibilities inherent in this instrumental combination.

Canens Quartet
“What can you tell with sound — and how do you tell it?” These guiding questions lie at the heart of the Canens Quartet’s artistic exploration. Focused on musical line, balance, harmonic tension and phrasing, the ensemble joins the Advanced Chamber Music Course eager to deepen their insight and gain meaningful performance experience.
Formed by Kasper Delrue, David Blanco de Paz, Lotte De Munck and Ceres Lauwers, this young quartet is motivated by exchange, experimentation and artistic growth.
Do you want to hear them play? Welcome February 8, at Bartok Festival, Bozar, Brussels.

Duo Chromatiek
Duo Chromatiek brings together clarinettist Andrea Onnis and pianist Parisa Golshan, both based in Leuven. Their ensemble grew from a strong musical connection formed during their studies at LUCA School of Arts, evolving quickly into a committed artistic partnership.
Their name refers to the rich spectrum of colours that music can evoke.of colors and sounds that music can create and share with its audience. The idea was born as the duo explored expressive works by composers such as Debussy, Gaubert, Poulenc, and Boulanger.
