Laura Andriani is a violinist and artistic researcher working at the intersection of performance, embodiment, and instrumental technique. 

She has extensive international experience as a chamber musician. She was first violin of the Alcan String Quartet in Canada, with whom she recorded the complete Beethoven string quartet cycle, among other major projects. 

In 1997, she received the Jury Special Prize at the Premio Paganini Competition for Berio’s Sequenza VIII. Her current artistic-research practice focuses on Niccolò Paganini, including a recording of the 24 Caprices (Passacaille, 2022), and investigates violin playing as an embodied practice. 

She is a PhD candidate at the Orpheus Institute (docARTES). Alongside her research activity, she teaches violin at the Conservatorio “Puccini” in La Spezia and performs internationally.
