Massimiliano Cerioni is an Italian composer, artist, programmer, and Max Certified Trainer, with an MA in Electronic Music from the A. Casella Conservatory. He makes music, visuals, sound art installations and performances, electronic lutherie, creative coding, and software under the name Culto. His aesthetics combine elements from different styles in an intersection of electroacoustic, ambient, noise, and drone music. He won 1st prize at the Premio Abbado in 2015. Massimiliano performs with augmented instruments and didgeridoo, and his works have been featured worldwide at IRCAM, CTM, ICMC, Tempo Reale, Artescienza, and Kunsttage Basel.
My music-making practice unfolds in situated deep listening occurrences, where human, mechanical, electronic, and computational forces converge into a composite and higher-order sonic generative system.
