Chapter One - Aspirations and Entanglements

During one especially fruitful brainstorming session we scribbled down threads of investigation that we felt needed to be pursued. The handwriting is by Elly Smith, or “ES.” “MP” stands for Michael Pecak; “BG” for Bobby Giglio; “TS” for Tilman Skowroneck; “CM” for Chis Maene; and “TB” for Tom Beghin. We left these scribblings on the board for months and erased them only after we took this picture. The reader will recognize the birth of many ideas and chapters represented in the book.
