Two days later, on September 18, 1843, the identical note (“Herr von Bethhoven widmet…”) was entered into the museum’s Einreichprotokoll, or acquisition register.  As an “exhibit,” the object of Beethoven’s piano receives the number 361: see the extreme left column.
