Worshops on Artistic Research in Music organised by the Conservatory “L. Cherubini” of Florence and the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of Milan, in collaboration with the Orpheus Instituut Gent

The Worshops on Artistic Research on Music (WARM) are organized by the Conservatory “L. Cherubini” of Florence, the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of Milan, in collaboration with Orpheus Instituut Gent. WARM is coordinated by Prof. Francesco Torrigiani (Florence Conservatory) and Gabriele Manca (Milan Conservatory), with the cooperation of Tiziano Manca (PhD), composer and researcher at Orpheus Instituut.

Each edition of WARM includes about 5 workshops (lasting three days each) spread over the academic year starting in March. These workshops usually take place at the two organizing conservatories, but also include a workshop-in-residence at Orpheus Instituut in Ghent. The work concludes with two public presentations at the two conservatories.

This initiative provides students with a preparation for methodologically organized autonomous reflection on their own artistic making and is part of the preparation and training activities for PhDs in music within the Third University Cycle.
