Alberto Piovesan joins "Resounding Libraries" research cluster

The Orpheus Institute welcomes Alberto Piovesan (Università di Pavia) for a six-month traineeship under the Erasmus+ scheme. He will join the "Resounding Libraries" research cluster and work on a specific portion of the Ton Koopman library collection.
Alberto Piovesan will join the Resounding Libraries research group from September 2021 until February 2022 as a trainee from the Università di Pavia. The internship, under the Erasmus+ scheme, is aimed at completing his MA degree in Musicology. Particularly specialized in the historical performance practice of baroque music, Alberto will work on a specific portion of the Ton Koopman library collection bringing catalographic metadata, thesauri, and knowledge bases up to date, help prepare the digitisation of historic manuscripts, and contribute to a newly-built discovery system for library materials.
Alberto Piovesan (Italy) has a rich background, having obtained degrees in International Politics and Sociology (Università degli Studi di Padova), Flute (Conservatorio di Musica “Giuseppe Tartini”, Trieste), and Early Music Performance-Traverso (Conservatorium van Amsterdam). He has furthermore skills as a freelance video maker.
