Library officer & scientific staff member in the Resounding Library cluster

Active as librarian at Orpheus Instituut since 2016, Liesa Deville joined the ‘Resounding Libraries’ cluster in 2020 as research collaborator. Liesa is a musicologist, double bass player and teacher. After studying Musicology at the KUL, she completed her studies in Classical music at the Conservatoires of Ghent and Brussels. Ever since, she has been performing as a freelancer in chamber music ensembles and large orchestras. She is profoundly interested in the connection between the performing arts and academic research in music. One of her present activities at Orpheus Instituut is the training of a Transkribus machine-learning instance to automatically transcribe Ton Koopman’s handwritten keywords.
