Graf piano inauguration in Concertgebouw Brugge
Inaugural concert of the Graf piano and a conversation with its builders
Experience the inauguration of the new built replica of Beethoven’s Conrad Graf piano, a masterpiece of craftsmanship by Piano's Maene as part of a research project led by Tom Beghin in collaboration with the Orpheus Institute, KU Leuven and Beethoven-Haus Bonn. In this concert, the sound world of Beethoven’s final piano is revived for the first time through works by Schubert and Beethoven himself, in dialogue with an earlier replica of Beethoven’s English Broadwood piano built by the Maene-Beghin duo. Discover the artistic, historical, and technical dimensions of this remarkable project during a pre-concert conversation with the piano builder and the musician-researcher.
