Lucia D'Errico appointed Professor for Artistic Research at Universität Mozarteum

Orpheus Research Fellow Lucia D'Errico is leaving the Orpheus Institute after seven wonderful years to start a new position as Professor for Artistic Research at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in Austria. She was selected out of 100+ candidates. We wish her the best of luck in her new job!

Lucia D’Errico is an artist-researcher in the field of music, with a specific focus on performance, experimental practices, and transdisciplinarity. Her research interests also include contemporary philosophy, psychoanalytical theory, semiotics, and epistemology. She has been a Doctoral Researcher in the ERC funded project MusicExperiment21 (2013–18), a Postdoc Fellow at the Orpheus Institute, and part of the coordinating team of the doctoral programme docARTES. Together with Paulo de Assis (Orpheus Institute) she is currently the co-editor of the book series Artistic Research at Rowman & Littlefield. Her monograph Powers of Divergence: An Experimental Approach to Music Performance (2018) is published by Leuven University Press. She is active as a composer, sound artist, guitarist, video performer, and graphic designer. Her designs can be found on the covers of our Orpheus Institute Series publications since 2017.

After seven wonderful years in Ghent Lucia is now moving to Salzburg to start a new position as Professor for Artistic Research at the Universität Mozarteum. The Orpheus Institute team wants to thank her and wishes her all the best!
