Declassifying the Classics research cluster

We welcome Camilla Köhnken as a new post-doctoral researcher in the 'Declassifying the Classics' research cluster.

Camilla Köhnken was born in Bonn, Germany and studied piano performance with Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Cologne, Jerome Rose in New York, and Claudio Martínez Mehner in Basel. Additionally, she completed a BA in medieval history and art history at the University of Frankfurt/Main.

Enjoying an international career both as a soloist and chamber musician on modern pianos, she grew more and more interested in period instruments of the 19th century. 2014-2018 she worked as a a research fellow in the applied interpretation research project “Instructive Editions” under Prof. Kai Köpp at the Bern University of the Arts where she earned her PhD on shared interpretation practices of the Liszt school in September 2018. Since November of 2019 she is a postdoc in Tom Beghin's research cluster "Declassifying the Classics" at the Orpheus Institute, Ghent.
