Adam Łukawski is a music composer and computer programmer. He is a lecturer in the subject of Music with Artificial Intelligence at Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He is a doctoral researcher in the MetamusicX research group at the Orpheus Institute and a PhD candidate at Leiden University in the docARTES program, affiliated with the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts and Leiden University Centre for Digital Humanities. His doctoral thesis focuses on composing music using AI and blockchain technologies. He studied Music Composition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. His compositions are published by Donemus Publishing in The Hague, and their premieres have been performed at cultural institutions such as the Dutch National Opera and Ballet, Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ in Amsterdam, Gaudeamus Festival in Utrecht, the Barbican in London, Ehrbar Hall in Vienna, and the Polish Radio Philharmonics Concert Hall of Witold Lutosławski in Warsaw. He has gained experience as a computer programmer, working in start-ups, at the Polish Information Processing Society, and as a technological keynote speaker at Cortland/Apple Inc. As a lecturer, he participates in numerous international scientific and artistic events. Since 2023, he has been a member of the expert group of the Polish Ministry of Education and Sciences (MEiN) advising on the creative use of AI in education.
