
Doctoral researcher
Andrea Agostini has earned his degrees in piano, composition and electronic music in Bologna. He then attended several composition masterclasses in Italy and abroad, and the two-year course in composition and musical informatics at IRCAM, Paris. He has composed numerous works of instrumental and electroacoustic music, which are regularly performed in the most important international festivals and venues, as well as sound installations and music for theatre and dance. He is a founding member of the collective of composer /nu/thing and of the electronic music duo Vertical Horizontal. He is also active in the domain of computer music, as both a researcher and an educator. He has co-authored of bach, a widely adopted software tool for computer-aided composition. He teaches computer music and electronic composition at the Conservatory of Turin, and regularly delivers workshops, presentations and masterclasses about his research and artistic work in the most important European and American institutions.
