Declassifying Beethoven

After a successful first edition in 2018, the Orpheus Institute organises its second Historical Piano Summer Academy. Eight pianists have been selected after an open call. We look forward to working together on repertoire by Beethoven and his contemporaries (like Dussek, Wölfl, or Schubert), using the various historical pianos we have at Orpheus. This promises to be a fruitful week of conversation, performing, and exchange of ideas and knowledge.

On the last day of the second Historical Piano Summer Academy three back-to-back concerts, each featuring two or three pianists, are offered by the eight participants. These concerts conclude a week of conversation, performing, and exchange of ideas and knowledge. Join us in listening to music by Beethoven and his contemporaries performed on five unique historical keyboards.
