Friday, September 23, 2022 - Driving home
As I drive from the Czech Republic to Germany, I see signs for Nuremberg, and I think: “I’ve never been.” No more distractions, however: it’s time to go home.
As I drive from the Czech Republic to Germany, I see signs for Nuremberg, and I think: “I’ve never been.” (There’s an instrument association: the original of the “ca. 1800 Anton Walter” fortepiano that many of us know and play is there.) But no more distractions: time to go home.
Heavy traffic around Cologne makes me drive into Belgium through beautiful Luxemburg. A welcome variation. Thank you, Waze.
Tonight I’m back in Herent. And tomorrow before dawn, I pick up Koen Uvin on my way to Ghent, to help me unload—one last time. Speaking of friends, he’s a true one. Thank you, Koen.
And thanks to everyone who made these an unforgettable two weeks.
